RENEWABLE SOURCES IMPACT ON ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION NETWORK OPERATION
Abstract
The paper aims to present the impact of renewable sources operation on the power distribution network. Different aspects are tackled for the case in point. One of the discussed problems regards their inf luence on the voltage in network buses and power flow on distribution s ystem branches. Thus, po wer flow studies have been performed. The case study refers to a real and complex distribution system. It is managed by an important distribution system operator (DSO). It has been modelled using computer aided power system operating condition analysis software. The starting point refers to real power system associated data collected from the DSO. In the following, the power system is modelled and the base case op erating condition is computed using AC power flow methods. The information regarding the renewable sources type, location and size have been provided by the DSO. All the data are incorporated into the electrical distribution network model and analyzes are performed. Another problem tackled by the authors refers to the influence of renewable sources operation on the technical losses. Currently, in our country, the DSOs are requested ( by the Energy Regulatory Authority Authority) to assess their technical losses consid ering the renewable sources' operation. Thus, a methodology is presented for this purpose.
