Abstract

When designing buildings and structures in landslide hazardous areas, the development of techno-economically effective landslide structures is often necessary. This requires a deep analysis of engineering-geological and engineering-hydrological surveys, as well as the identification of the nature of the landslide (its structure, type and depth). The article discusses the design features of engineering landslide protection of the building of the sanatorium and sports grounds, as well as access roads to them located in the city of Sochi (Russia) on Cape Vidnoye. Of particular difficulty was the presence of the existing railway. To simulate this situation, modern geotechnical software systems such as Plaxis (finite element method) and GeoStudio (Morgenstern-Price method) were used. The simulation was performed taking into account hazardous engineering and geological processes developed in the area: landslides, abrasion and erosion processes, weathering, seismicity of 9 points. According to the calculation results, it was revealed that in the natural state the slope was in a limiting state. The arrangement of the complex of landslide measures will ensure the stability of the slope and the safe operation of communication lines (roads and railways) for both the main and the special combination of loads. Recommendations on the staged development of anti-landslide structures, as well as on the organization of construction and installation works are presented. The role of monitoring was determined both for the construction period and during the operation of protected facilities.
