Abstract

In our century and especially in recent decades the noise level reached an increasing width, becoming a polluting source of the same severity as chemical pollution. Increasing power and work speed of equipments has contributed to diversifying and increasing the number of noise sources and thus increased number of people exposed. Noise generating sources in technological procedures of processing may be of continuous nature (pneumatic energy production, water transport) or intermittent (systems for transporting minerals and tailings). In the process of processing the noise it is characterized by disordered overlapping of sounds of different frequencies and intensities, causing auditory discomfort. This paper aims to highlight the level of noise pollution resulted from useful minerals processing activities due to equipment used, a quantitative and qualitative assessment of noise sources on technological flows, the influence of depreciation reflected in noise and also measures to be taken to reduce noise. Values of noise measurements performed at processing equipment over a period of three consecutive years were analyzed in order to conclude the influence that the wear of thereof parts has on noise.
