SUBSTANTIATION OF ENERGY-SAVING TECHNOLOGY FOR FERRUGINOUS QUARTZITES PROCESSING USING MAGNETIC-GRAVITY PROCESSING METHODS

Abstract

The article considers mineralogical and technological features of ferruginous quartzites in the Zaimandrovsky regionпїЅs deposits and tailings from the rough magnetic separation. A technology has been developed for the stadial separation of magnetite concentrate from the initial ore, including the ore preparation, magnetic separation, and also the joint use of fine screening and magnetic gravity separation. The increase in the efficiency of the gravitational cycle for the hematite concentrate production was achieved by introducing two stages of the screw separation and the concentration on the table for separating the tails of the rough magnetic separation. The combined technology provides the bulk magnetite-hematite concentrate containing about 66% of the mass fraction of iron during through-extraction of 87.1% of Fe. A promising direction of the intensification of the processing process is the stadial separation of the finished concentrate as the ore minerals are liberated, which predetermines the need to change the ore preparation processes for the rational use of grinding equipment. It is shown that the use of fine screening operations allows saving the energy and resources up to 40% due to the reduction of the circulating load in the пїЅgrinding-classificationпїЅ cycle.
