Abstract

An important practical task in the study of any measuring devices and systems is to assess their sensitivity. Such systems include, in particular, hardware and software systems for geodynamic monitoring of geological environments for leaks of petroleum products (from areal storage and processing facilities), implemented on the basis of the phase-based method of geoelectric control. The idea of this method is based on the fact that various petroleum products have their own unique electrical characteristics, contrasting with the electrical characteristics of geological media. At the same time, the method of detection and localization of affected areas of the geological environment involves using a set of measurement lines to register and analyze the phase characteristics of a two-component electric field created by multi-pole sources of probing signals at a fixed position of sources and receivers of geoelectric signals. The studies have shown that an effective tool for assessing the sensitivity of geoelectric installations is the use of modeling two-dimensional and three-dimensional geoelectric sections based on the grid method. According to this method, each element (module) of a grid, is a set of single substitution models, which correspond to the electrical parameters of the simulated object (geological environment, water, air, oil product, etc.) at the selected scale. On the basis of this method, at a sounding frequency of 100 Hz, simulation modeling of oil product leaks was carried out with varying the depth of the leakage, its size and the direction of seepage. Based on the obtained phase images of geodynamic processes, the corresponding conclusions are made about the influence of these factors on the sensitivity of phase-measuring installations.
