RESEARCH OF THE FOREST HABITATS FOUND ON THE SHORE OF THE DANUBE RIVER (DOLJ COUNTY, ROMANIA)
Abstract
The paper presents some aspects about the biodiversity of the forest habitats and species adaptations to the ecological conditions on the shore of Danube river. The territory under research is located along the Danube river, in the Southern of Dolj County, between localities Rast and Gighera. Related to the humidity, temperature and soil reaction, the flora of the forest habitats of this region has a hygrophilous, meso-hygrophilous, mesophilous, meso-thermal, and slightly acido-neutrophilus character. Following the forestry research, in this region of the Danube River a number of 2 forest habitats: 91E0* Alluvial forests with Alnus glutinosa and Fraxinus excelsior (Alno-Padion, Alnion incanae, Salicion albae) CLAS. PAL.: 44.3, 44.2 and 44.13 and 91F0 Riparian mixed forests of Quercus robur, Ulmus laevis and Ulmus minor, Fraxinus excelsior or Fraxinus angustifolia along the great rivers (Ulmenion minoris)]CLAS. PAL.: 44.4. In this area we found also 4 wooden plant communities were identified: Salicetum fragilis Passarge 1957; Salicetum albae Issler 1924; Fraxino danubialis-Ulmetum SoпїЅ 1936 corr. 1963 and Bromo sterilis-Robinietum pseudacaciae (Pocs 1954) SoпїЅ 1964 (syn. Robinietum pseudacaciae (Arvat 1939) Balasz 1942; Agropyro-Robinietum pseudacaciae SzabпїЅ 1971). For each plant communities we study: the chorology, ecology, physiognomy and the floristic composition as well as its importance.
