AEROGENOUS EXPOSURE TO ALUMINIUM AND DISBALANCE OF THE CLINICAL AND LABORATORY INDICATORS VALUES OF THE IMMUNE PROFILE IN CHILDREN WITH COMPROMATED RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

Abstract

Summary. Aluminum, entering the human body, has the property of accumulation, modulates immunoregulation and metabolism, especially mineral. It also exhibits the properties of a sensitizer and neurotoxicant, mutagen and carcinogen. And in the case of aerogenic exposure, the target object is additionally the upper and lower respiratory tract system. Exposed by aluminium children are especially inclined to occurrence of negative effects. The research is aimed to study the immune status of children of primary school age with functional disorders of the respiratory system living in the territory of technogenic air pollution with wastes produced by aluminum production enterprise. Materials and methods. 52 children in the age of 7-11 years, living in the zone of influence of an aluminium production enterprise, who have functional disorders of the respiratory system, were examined. Identification of cellular immunoregulation indexes: regulatory T-cell differentiation of T lymphocytes CD127-, protein expression level of Bcl-2 and TNFR receptor was carried out by flow cytometry method. Beta2- microglobulin level was determined by enzyme multiplied immunoassay method. The functional state of the respiratory system was assessed by spirometry, rhinomanometry, and functional reserves - by calculating the Skibinskaya index. Results. The expansion of bronchial asthma, clinical signs of chronic lympho-proliferative diseases significantly exceeded the level among children in the comparison group (29.4%, ?=0.001). The changes in immune reactivity was significantly different from the comparison group, they manifested themselves in an increase in the percentage of phagocytic cells, beta2-microglobulin protein, IgG, CD127-, TNFR, and also specific IgG to aluminium (up to 2.5 times in respect to the comparison group), and also inhibition of Bcl-2 protein expression was registered in 2.6 times (p <0.05). Conclusion. Children at the age of 7-11 years, living on the territory of aerogenic exposure and having impact on health because of wastes from an aluminium production plant were diagnosed more frequently than children of the comparison group with respiratory diseases with an allergic component, reliably associated with the contamination of biological media with aluminum compounds. Clinical and laboratory studies of immune profile let to find out disbalance of humoral and cellular immunity: hyperproduction of specific IgG to aluminium, overexpression of intracellular proteins and membrane receptors for immunoregulation of beta2-microglobulin, IgG, CD127-, TNFR and deficit of Bcl-2.
