Abstract

The aim of this paper is to point out to conception of remediation approaches in the mining landscape after ending of mining. Remediation is technically and financially very demanding. According authors of some scientific studies comparing the results of the technical and biological reclamation with a spontaneous succession showed the advantages of spontaneous succession. Therefore the current trend in landscape ecology promotes procedures without technical remediation, which limits the progressive succession. On the territory of Middle SpiпїЅ, which are includes Rud?any was long period area of intensive mining mainly iron and copper ores. In the 90 years there was an attenuation ores mining and ultimately the closure of the mines. The structure of the landscape is largely influenced by mining activity both on the surface, where there are remarkable anthropogenic surface man-made landforms - mine landforms, but also below the surface where they formed the so-called mining basement. The process of remediation takes place differentiated, namely by various remediation procedures (or the remediation is missing) which are the cause of transformation of utilisation of the landscape and of change its physiognomy. An essential means of research was the study of maps and archival materials and as well long-term field research. Comparison of results from different time periods, we came to the conclusions and recommendations which are presented in article. On the basis of the latest trends of the expert studies, in the current period the greatest emphasis gives on the aesthetic value of the former mining spaces in the landscape, which has educational potential and the potential for tourism development.
