PORTFOLIO FOR SHAPING PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL COMPETENCES OF STUDENTS
Abstract
Nowadays institutions of higher education are actively working at providing methods of bringing to life federal educational standards of higher professional education. In competency-oriented major educational programs in the fields of education a special attention is paid to organizing independent activities that will enable students to achieve experience of independent responsible work, develop their epistemological, axiological and creative potential. Training qualified specialists, ready for constant professional growth is impossible without permanent self-education and achieving new skills of self-dependent activities. Competitiveness, competence and independence as the most significant features of a personality are the key ones to a creative individuality of a future teacher; that is why organizing the process of teaching in higher professional school should be inseparably bound with their development. The idea of a portfolio of the file of individual academic achievements of students has been becoming more and more popular recently. Portfolio has been one of the main educational trends of the recent decade. Moreover, the school of the 21st century is a school of portfolio and the idea of a portfolio is regarded as one of the significant elements of modernization of education, taking place all over the world. The idea of portfolio is much more important than just an alternative way of evaluation of students? self-dependent work of a number or works. While working with a portfolio the interaction between the object and subject of teaching is of special significance, in the process of which there are defined goals and purposes of activity and the criteria of evaluation of the activity are determined. It is very important that these goals and criteria are worked out on contractual terms. The assignments of scientific and informational character ? searching for and classification, introduced to students for self-dependent activities, the purpose of which in the development of methodological knowledge and skills are supposed to plan the mobile changeable form of the result of the work ( both in form and contents). Organization of independent activities is the context of processing of the information, presenting the scientific information as secondary document (reference literature, review, annotation, overview, tables, graphs, analytical reference) let students follow all the process of solving academic tasks and problems and repeatedly practice the creative process, shaping necessary skills in ever changing conditions.
