AUTOMATIC SKIN DETECTION TECHNIQUE FOR COLOR IMAGES
Abstract
We propose a skin detection approach that works for digital color images. First, we make an introduction in this image analysis domain, mentioning the most important human skin identification techniques. Then, we provide a pixel-based skin color detection technique for RGB images. Our approach performs the identification of skin regions using conversions between color spaces and formulating a set of restrictions on the color components. Some experiments, proving the effectiveness of the proposed method, are also described in this paper.
