PROBLEMS OF ECOLOGY AND SECURITY IN THE CONTACT AREA BETWEEN OLD AND NEW TUNNELS
Abstract
When new constructions are performed near existing tunnels, emergency situations are often reached. Emergencies affect both the safety of the old tunnel and the stability of the natural environment. Emergency state parameters are examined for the causes of this degree of uncertainty. On the basis of an example from the practice, technical guidelines and measures are proposed to overcome the accidents and to permanently restore the security of the existing tunnels and sites affected by the new construction. Recommendations have been made to prevent such accidents in the area of contact between old and new tunnels.
