GROUND CONTROL POINTS INFORMATION SYSTEM AND WEB SUPPORTED GIS APPLICATION; CASE STUDY KONYA
Abstract
For the purpose of defining location of points, coordinates that described according to a reference systems are using which parameters has defined already. In surveying, the base element is ground control points with their known coordinates in a reference system. In every kind of surveying project, new coordinates are determining by using coordinates of ground control points. Because of this, the projects realized by using points which have low spatial accuracy and ground control point’s location errors will be effect the position of new points location. Therefore the project’s accuracy will be the same as ground control point’s accuracy used to determine coordinates. In this study, because of the importance, the ground control points are examined in Konya center districts. All the benchmarks and triangulation points have stored in database with their referencing sketches. For efficiently use and managing database, in ArcGIS 9.3 software, a Toolbar has compiled. With Toolbar, desired points can be visualisate by one click in desired coordinate system and datum separately. With compiling a WEB site all the coordinates can be searched without using Arcgis software. Adding referencing sketches of points to the database, the knowledge about the location and established real estate of points can be easily reached.
