TIME-DEPENDENCE OF THE ZEOLITIZATION OF FLY ASH FROM MARITSA 3 TPP, BULGARIA: SEM-EDX INVESTIGATION
Abstract
The process of alkaline hydrothermal activation (with NaOH) of fly ash from Bulgarian coal-burning thermo-power plant “Maritsa 3” has been investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispe rsive X-Ray analyses. The stages of the zeolitization have been discusse d on the base of the obtained data for the morphology and composition of typical in dividual particles from th e zeolitized fly ash samples, synthesized at different trea tment duration. The influences of pre-treatment and post- treatment ageing of the suspensions have been also examined. Key words: Coal fly ash, Zeolitization, Hydrothermal activation, SEM-EDX
