Abstract

One of the most negative effects of the development of our civilization is global warming. The results of many studies and analyzes clearly confirm that it is human activity that is the main cause of changes that occur in the natural environment, which in turn also leads to climate change. Increasing emissions of greenhouse gases and other harmful gaseous, liquid and solid substances cause very intense destruction of our ecosystem. This, in turn, results in irreversible changes in the natural environment, which can have a very negative impact on the health and existence of subsequent generations. In this context, it is necessary for the further economic development of our planet to take greater account of the impact on the environment than at present. Among other things, the idea of sustainable development serves this purpose. Analyzing previous activities in this area, especially in politics, it can be stated that their effects are very questionable and they are badly forecasting for the future. It seems that the only effective course of action that can force decision-making is the pressure of public opinion on decision-makers. For this to happen, society must have appropriate knowledge in this field. This, in turn, should result in pressure and demand from the government for effective measures to protect the climate and the environment. The IT tool in the form of a platform proposed in the article is intended to raise the ecological awareness of the society. It will be available to anyone interested in climate change in acquiring specialist knowledge and presenting their views, comments and information. Operation of such a platform should improve the effectiveness of the ecological education process of its users. The paper presents the concepts of such a platform in which scientists, practitioners, politicians and all other interested persons can present their opinions. A very important element will be to encourage the use of the platform for elementary and high school students and students. In many cases, it will be the easiest way to reach older people through the education of young people. The platform will also be an example of the positive use of new information technologies for ecological social education, which should result in the promotion of pro-ecological behavior and be a source of reliable information on the state of the natural environment.
