Abstract

The paper presents the results of studying the technological properties of vein quartz Girvas occurrence. The mineralogical and chemical composition of the technological samples are analyzed. The distribution and composition of mineral impurities, gas-liquid inclusions in quartz are studied. When developing a deep beneficiation scheme, quartz grain sizes were selected based on the experience of enrichment of vein quartz, the size and composition of mineral impurities. Enriched quartz concentrate with a particle size of 1-0.315 mm can be used as a raw material for the production of crystalline silicon and quartz concentrates of intermediate purity KPO. Quartz concentrate of deep enrichment of the fraction of 0.315-0.1 mm meets the requirements of the KGO grade of individual brands and is suitable for the production of highly pure transparent quartz glass, in electronics, lighting, fiber-optic communications. Enrichment technology of quartz manifestation Girvas is characterized as energy-saving, high-tech and environmentally friendly. The elimination of heat treatment and flotation operations reduces the possibility of the transfer of scattered impurities in quartz to isomorphous form.
