STRATEGY OF THE HOUSE WITH SIDE WINDOWS AND ITS ROLE OF THERMAL REGULATOR IN A HOT-DRY CLIMATE A GHARDAIA
Abstract
In southern Algeria, energy consumption is inevitable due to the hot climate and the summer period, which extends for more than half a year, it is necessary to take a strategic approach to ensure the sustainability and maximum comfort while reducing energy through passive and active architectural. Forthis reason, to reduce this consumption, it is necessary to improve the performance of the building. As a result, windows and ventilation become key points to improve in terms of Losses. These two elements may be at the same time the source of a large part of the wastage (80% for a passive house) but also source of solar gains for windows (37% of Thermal inputs for a passive house). The objective being to evaluate the performance by comparison different type of windows. the results of a survey to measure the impact of openable windows to four, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, the potential percentage of window opening on air tightness and total heat loss from a frame to testa studio with four interfaces.First, the effect of the window on the building is examined and compared to the heat of the building with or without the window, regardless of where the window is located. Second, studying the ratio of the vision to open the window in addition to the associated behavior of opening the various windows. The results showed that open windows will not increase the frequency of heat loss in this particular home, except for the most extreme windows opening behavior. The implications of these results are discussed for different types.
