Abstract

Background. Reducing fuel consumption in the engine, while achieving assumed power is important for both reasons: the economic and the environmental. In this work series of studies of diesel fuel combustion in cogeneration system with the participation of 1:4000 vol. CeO2 concentrate: diesel oil was prepared. CeO2 concentrate purifies combustion chamber and afterburns hydrocarbons which in turn affects lowering the fuel consumption. Purpose is assessment of the impact of the possibility of adding Bluediesiel as a catalyst. Objects are Diesel Engine with a capacity of 125cm3. Subject catalyst for diesel fuel. Method. Monitoring data were processed using software MS Excel. Results. It has been shown that in the presence of the concentrate, fuel consumption is 5-7 wt. % lower than in case of diesel oil consumption without the concentrate. This work was carried out with the engine load at the level of 0-4000 W. The effect of adding CeO2 to the fuel resulted in a more complete combustion of fuel in the engine compartment. Attempts of the subject matter related to the use of a catalyst in the form of a coated coating on valves, cylinders, here the possibility of adding a catalyst directly to the fuel is presented. Conclusion. Bluediesiel uses Cerium nanoparticles as a fuel additive. Most likely, the cerium particles are evenly distributed in the fuel, but this should be checked in subsequent tests. Tests have shown that the catalyst additive can also be used as a fuel additive.
