Abstract

The paper focuses on management tools that are used in project work leading to the construction of a new sorting line for municipal waste treatment. The aim of the article was to describe possible project management tools that are used in the management of the company and individual project phases and activities. The construction of a modern waste sorting facility responds to a change in EU and Czech directives. This area is so specific that it cannot be affected by the situation around the COVID 19 pandemic, which has affected most of the business sector. The right managerial decisions in the routine process of project work, but also in the strategic importance of the project principle are important and can be dealt with effectively only if they are supported by relevant management tools. The monitoring of the entire project and the application of the right management methods is all the more monitored, because it is a unique project in the Czech Republic. Due to its size, this facility is able to ensure the processing, not only of municipal waste, in a substantial part of the Moravian-Silesian region. The result is a theoretical basis of given management tools, such as PESTLE analysis, Porter's analysis of five forces, SWOT analysis, Gantt chart and investment evaluation methods. Due to the scope of the article and the possibility of publishing, the above methods were chosen as the theoretical basis.
