RESEARCH OF OPTIMAL INTEGRATION OF BUILDING INTEGRATED PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS FOR ONE FAMILY HOUSES FOR ROMANIA, TIMISOARA
Abstract
The main goal of this present study is to determine the performance you can obtain from the implementation of fixed Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) on one family houses. The study will use a comparative method on one family houses between a flat roof, and a piched roof with two slopes, with different orientations of the plot. These various scenarios respond to urban implementation rules that are particular in urban planning. The calculations were made for a single family house with a built area of 100sqm (8.33m by 12m) for the Northern Hemisphere for Romania, Timi?oara with a latitude of 45пїЅ,45`. For the experimental part it has been used the free calculator for BIPV from http://pvwatts.nrel.gov [1]. The plot orientation would correspond of to an azimuth angle of 0пїЅ, 45пїЅ, 90пїЅ, 135пїЅ, 180пїЅ, 225пїЅ, 270пїЅ and 315пїЅ. For the pitched roof houses we considered two different scenarios: one with the ridge paralel to the street and the second scenario with the ridge perpendicular to the street. In both cases the tilt angle of the slope of the roof would be of 20пїЅ. The study should provide enough information to determine the best approach in urban planning and plot orientation for future urban projects in order to respond to BIPV implementation. The main purpose is to generate future projects that use the most out of solar power. This method will make smart houses cheaper and more affordable for everybody.
