STEEL STRUCTURES IN URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE PREVENTION
Abstract
For the most risky sections in the metro construction, the postulates of the mining methods using steel structures have to be used. With the classic settings of these methods, innovative technical solutions can be achieved, to which this report is dedicated. It is necessary to search for simplified, safe and durable tunnels and shafts when crossing existing subway lines. On this basis, the statements of the specific geomechanical tasks were formulated. In the case of shafts, the fundamental differences in the application of the classical statements of earth mechanics and the theoreticalexperimental methods for determining earth pressure have been clarified. The specifics between temporary and permanent steel fasteners used in subway construction, as well as the place of shafts in the contact between existing and newly constructed infrastructure, are discussed. The conditions of application of the steel mine fasteners in subway construction and the specifics when constructing the main details of the support frames are clarified. A mixed method between mining and New Austrian is proposed for crossing risk zones with saturated urban infrastructure. The basic principles of modeling and construction of cross tunnels between pipes of metro diameters are considered. The report with examples from practice discusses both the geomechanical problems using steel structures and their engineering solution with specific examples of implemented facilities. They bring out recommendations for practice.
