ANALYSIS OF FACTORS THAT THREATEN THE SAFETY OF VALUABLE GEOLOGICAL OBJECTS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF SOME RIVER VALLEYS OF THE MAIN DEVONIAN FIELD)
Abstract
For craton's areas the most valuated geological object ordinary are situated in river valleys. There are stratotypes, interesting outcrops, unical paleontiological localities. However over time a lot of valuable geological objects lost. The natural and anthropogenic factors are analysed in the article that determine the preservation of specially protected natural areas and, in particular, valuable geological objects on the example of some river valleys of the north-west of the Russian Plate. The article reflects the specifics of the conservation of unical geological and hydrogeological objects in the specifir area of the north-west of Russian Plate (the Main Devonian Field). The analysis made by the authors showed the loss, first of all, of stratigraphic and paleontological valuable objects. The loss of many outcrops indicates, in turn, a change in the morphology of river valleys. Various evidences of changes in the hydrological regime and morphology of the Shelon River valley are shown, as well as the reasons for the disappearance of most of the outcrops in the river's valley and the shallowing of its bed are revealed. A historical retrospective of the state of the river valley with the use of stratigraphic, paleontological, historical-geological, historical-mining, historical and toponymic data is given.
