Abstract

Eroded soils improvement issues are a prior ity, but it is better to solve such problems using easily recoverable natural compounds as the residual marine biomass. This possibility is insufficiently studied but can solve multiple envir onment problems. The study of marine organisms’ communities that are broth to the Romanian Black Sea shore by the waves, is aimed at qualitative an d quantitative analysis of macroalgal and invertebrate communities, seasonal dynamics of these communities, analysis of macrobiological associations and physical-chemical parameters, especially heavy metals content, in quantitative terms, the marine biomass has significant seasonal and annual variations. The aim of this study is to find opportunities for exploitation of the residual marine biomass, regarding the amount collec ted in different periods of time, because represents an important composite bio-fertilizer which can be used in order to improve as nutrient for the eroded soils and agriculture purpose. A set of representative samples of macroalgal and invertebrates along Roma nian Black Sea Coast has been analysed during 2008 - 2010 period. In this respect, the total phosphorous, main anions and heavy metals content have been analysed by UV-VIS spectrometry and AAS methods. Also, the presence of pathogens strains TNG, Escherichia coli , Salmonella sp. , Staphylococcus sp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa and different species of fungi have been monitored. The results obtained confirmed that the heavy metals content was found to be very low for cadmium and chromium, thei r values being below the detection limits. The concentrations of the other metals, coppe r, lead, manganese and zinc remained also below the admissible values for residual marine biomass. The anions content presents normal values for this type of biomass. Th e decreased microbial charge correlated with physical-chemical parameters, recommends this residual marine biomass as potential nutrient, fertilizer for eroded soils and agriculture purpose.
