THE CHALLENES AND ADVANTAGES OF THE DIGITALIZATION-SUPPORTED ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS AND INVESTMENTS IN HUNGARIAN AGRICULTURAL SECTOR
Abstract
In our current research project, we explored the factors, that promoting and hindering the spread of the sustainability-ensuring digitalization developments and investments in agricultural production. The main question we sought to answer was why digitalization technologies are spreading in Hungary, which contribute greatly to the achievement of sustainability goals. According to Szabo, [11] 2025 the reason for raising the spreading of these technologies was, that the agricultural sector in Hungary has played a significant role in the economy in recent years, but today the pace of development lags significantly behind, that of other European countries. Therefore we surveyed, how to feel the Hungarian farmers about the using of digitalization technologies, as well as, the extent to which they use them and what obstacles and advantages they think in relation to the transition to digitalization. The other main reason of the choosing this topic is that, there are currently several forms of EU support available for digitalization developments and investments, that greatly promote sustainability. The widest application of these technological developments and investments is paramount importance because of the achieving of the increasingly stringent sustainability goals set by the European Union in the future. Only those company will have access to financial resources, that comply with increasingly stringent environmental regulations, that meet the increasingly stringent environmental regulations, therefore, in the future, sustainability will mean not only the environmental protection, but also long-term operation in economic terms.
