BUILDING CONSTRUCTIONS AND THEIR IMPACT ON POLLUTION AND CLIMATE CHANGE
Abstract
The issues in assurance of energy sufficiency and of environment quality are necessary part of scientific prognosis humanity evolution. The buildings belong to major consumer non-renewable energy and are emitter of greenhouse gases and other gaseous wastes during whole life cycle. The CO 2 emissions mostly come from the energy required to heat, cool and ve ntilate buildings. There are al so significant emissions from creating the materials to build, maintain and demolish buildings. Climatic changes, increased pollution, and our diminishing natural resources have resulted in an urgent need to change our lifestyles. It is im portant to build in line with sustainable development and according to green building strategy. The alternative constructions within the context of their environmental pe rformance are presented in this paper, The paper is aimed to environmental indicator s assessment (PEInon, GWP, AP) such as embodied energy, CO 2 and SO 2 emissions. The designed constructions mainly from suitable natural materials on cellulose base reach negative balance of carbon emissions. These green constructions have very lower resultant values of embodied energy. The aim of this paper is optimization of desi gn of building constructions with view of reduction of environmental footprint and increasing energy efficiency.
