Abstract

The Romanian tourism aims to develop, togeth er with the integration in the EU, several criteria of recognition which might be essen tial on the internationa l market, regarding the quality of the services and the natural or cultural objectives available nowadays. One of its indubitable advantages, which attract constantly the vis itors attention, is represented by the eco-touristic potential. This domain is a fo rm of alternative tourism having a permanent development. In order to perceive it adequately, it is necessary to include several compulsory elements regard ing the contribution to the preservation of the nature and of the local communities’ welfare. The forms of flux concentration and focus over the main touristic objectives (monasteries, walled villages, traditional cel ebrations, traditional occupations from an unique spectrum among the international ones) have generated new concerns from the perspective of the environment quality in many rural settlements, mainly the roads quality, transportation systems during the critical pe riods of the year, the community’s availability towards the tourists. All these have determined the apparition of several environmental directions in the rural space of Bucovina (Bukowina) 1, Obviously, the above directions appeared under the influence of several cumulative factors: a) the existence of environmental issues due to the population reorientig towards the touristic activities; b) the necessity of a persistent devel opment of the communities, imposing the existence of an environmental element in each development strategy (PUG); c) the profound mutations appeared in the structure of working employment in Bucovina (Bukowina) (the failure of th e extractive industry and the industrial restructuring, generating unemployment) determined a deep need to functionally occupy an increasing population; d) the legitimate wish and duty to preserve, as much as po ssible, an extremely rich space from the natural, ethnic, social, traditional and ecological perspective.
