Abstract

Critical thinking skills are considered as a core competency development issue for future professionals who are preparing to carry out their professional activities in the context of information society and digitalization. It is believed that the role and specificity of critical thinking among future foreign language teachers has not been sufficiently explored. We consider it to be an innovative approach that implies a different understanding of the goals and implementation of the educational process and is related to the general trend of integration in the contemporary educational environment. The specific application of this technology is a new iteration of the already known STEM approach, which at this stage has evolved into the STREAM approach. Following the logic of the STREAM approach in education, the STREAM technology developed by the authors of this study is based on strengthening the role of thinking skills embodied in the arts and reading/writing in the humanities. The introduction of natural sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics content in education, and the combination of interdisciplinary STREAM technology techniques is crucial in the represented research. The differences between STREAM technology and traditional technologies are also shown. The interdisciplinary nature of the developed techniques is represented by how these techniques are fulfilled in terms of content, which is directly related to the logic of the STREAM technology teaching material content. The figures represented precisely show the visual side of the procedural part of technology and author techniques developed.
