Abstract

Currently, construction industry puts greater emphasis on sustainability. Exploitation of clear materials, methods and pressure on zero waste policy represent priority in architecture and civil engineering. The new directives and laws in individual European countries help to implement these environmental aspects throughout the whole life cycle of construction projects. Cost issue represents one of barrier and common problem to implement these aspects into the construction process. This is not just about perceiving the increased investment costs. Generally, this is the whole issue of cost management related to the construction of sustainable and green buildings. It includes cost management methods and exploitation price list database in designing stage. Information and communication technology represents solution for cost management issue in whole life of construction project. Building Information Modelling tool can be also helpful in this field. Paper is focused on cost management issue in sustainable and green buildings designing. Main aim of paper is to analyse and describe opportunity and methods of cost management trough BIM technology in sustainable construction projects and buildings.
