Abstract

The article describes methodological approaches to calculation of ecology-economic index of the Russian Federation regions as an aggregated indicator of sustainable development. Calculation results of main quantity are presented. Ecology-economic index of Kursk region is made up of this quantity. Data analysis demonstrates that genuine savings of our region practically don't differ in size from gross savings of basic capital because the sum of indicator indexes is approximately equal. The indicator is compensated by budget expenses on human capital development and assessment of especially protected natural territories. Such territory is the largest biospheric reserve named after Alyokhin which is situated in Black Soil Region. These indicators show environmental depletion (especially development of iron deposits) and damage from environmental pollution under economic activity influencing index reduction.
