STUDIES AND RESEARCH ON ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION SURVEILLANCE TECHNIQUES AND METHODS IN MINERALS CLOSED BY GSM SENSORS
Abstract
The paper deals with the implementation of modern techniques and methods of surveillance in closed mining sites, for monitoring, assessing the real state and forecasting possible changes to provide an integrated picture of the state of the natural environment. The proposed system is designed as a tool with practical applicability in the decision making process of ecological restoration strategies of closed mining sites. Closed / abandoned mines have an acute need to deploy a sensor network due to their lack of work or abandonment, but also the space-time complexity of chemical, hydrological and ecological parameters and the difficulty of sampling in the especially for remote locations or unfavorable conditions. In order to solve the main objective of the paper, the specific objectives, which are developed successively, are set in the paper: establishment of pollutants to be monitored; the delimitation of the environmental impact area; location of emission sources by types of pollutants; the frequency of observations and the configuration of an environmental monitoring application through a network of GSM sensors in order to ensure safety and environmental parameters. The final objective of the thesis is to create a zone monitoring network that will be able to monitor and control the impact of closed / abandoned mining sites on the environment and to intervene to stop pollution.
