Abstract

In the context of climate and land use changes, the dynamics of soil carbon content became an interesting topic taking into account the role of soil organic matter for both plant growth and soil quality. Various analytical methods are accessible to find out the organic carbon concentration in soil with distinctive accuracy, each of them having own constraints and gains. The aim of the present study was to compare the experimental results obtained for soil organic carbon through several methods (wet dichromate oxidation (WO), dry combustion (DC) using Multi N/C 2100 analyzer, loss of ignition (LOI) by Nabertherm muffle furnace in relation with soil texture. The recovery efficiency of carbon relies on substrate type, organic compounds, volatile salts, structural water, inorganic carbon, crops management. The 46 soil samples were collected from five profiles and five surveys at depth between 0пїЅ5 cm, 5пїЅ30 cm. Textural analysis was determined using Analysette 22 laser particle size, for all methods being used three replicates. It is noticed that an increased content of clay produces significant differences between the soil organic carbon assessment.
