Abstract

Interfaces of rocks with different mechanical properties influence on seismic stress field appearing in rock mass during the earthquake. This influence may increase seismic load applied to underground objects located near the interface, so it should be taking into account in seismic analysis of the structures. For this aim the problem of elasticity theory about stress state of the ring supporting an opening in the half-plane, which is united with a half-plane of another material is considered. Lengths of seismic waves have been assumed to be much more then transversal size of a tunnel, thus pseudo-static approach is used. According to this approach seismic action of the earthquake is simulated by stresses applied at infinity to the elastic half-planes. The stresses are obtained with help of known solution of the problem about reflection and refraction of P-waves and SV-waves at interface. Direction of incident wave and amplitude stresses induced in rock mass assumed to be known. Solution of the problem considered is obtained analytically with help of complex functions theory and Laurent series. Examples of the design are given.
