SUPPORT MEASURES STRATEGY AND RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES IN SELECTED EU COUNTRIES UNTIL 2020
Abstract
Today energy consumption in the world is constantly increasing and therefore using energy more effectively and reduce energy consumption has been discussed a lot more. Nowadays, trend of stimulating renewable energy production is at the forefront. In this regard, in Slovakia use of renewable energy sources for home electricity and heat generation following European Union support and the project Green to Households is developed considerably. The return on investment on these funds is indeed longer, but we should take into account their positive impact on the environment, compared to the negative impact of use of fossil fuels. The production of renewable energy must be stimulated in order to ensure that the renewable energy will be able to compete with other energy sources in the market and that it will be attractive to investor. The applications of schemes to promote the production of renewable energy differ on the level of individual EU countries. The main purpose of this article is to create a model aimed at the development prognosis of support and funding opportunities of the overall burdens and costs arising from the support for renewable sources in the selected EU countries. The forecast arising from the model is carried out under different scenarios of the enter data development. Based on a scenario, a gradual growth of extra costs related to the support for renewable sources extended until at least 2020 can be expected. A further aim was to provide an overview and analysis of the current set supports in the selected EU countries until 2020 from various aspects.
