Abstract

Due to more and more restrictive environment requirements in the field of pollutant emissions of co-generative plants are imposing researches related to the more efficient work of those related to duct burners. Within in a co-generative group, placing the post combustion setup before the turbo engine makes that engine's performances to be influenced related to: flame stability, efficiency and emissions. The paper presents the results of a duct burner achieved on a test bench, when it operates at partial loads on natural gas and air or exhausted gases from a gas turbine. The including of the duct burner leads to the increase of the overall efficiency and the flexibility of the co-generative plant. The solution used for decreasing NOx concentration in ambient air consists of water injection in the gas turbine intake and then, the impact of NOx emissions was assessed. The drawn dispersion charts emphasizes that NOx concentrations in ambient air that are below the limits set by in force regulations related to air quality and are well correlated to the real time measured data. The dispersion charts uses data both from the emitting source and from the mobile air pollutants laboratory which is situated far enough from the source at the interface of industrial/inhabited area.
