Abstract

The authors intent to give a compact overview in this article of the hydrological and hydrogeological circumstances of dump bodies in the western part of the North Bohemian Brown Coal Basin and their changing in the area of interest from the beginning of mining activity till now. There are morphologically important dump bodies of Prunerov, Merkur and Brezno in the area of interest. Some significant surface watercourses had to be relocated in the past at the same time as the dump bodies were being built and brown coal mining was going on.
