IMPROVING PRODUCT QUALITY BY USING A MANAGMENT METHOD (QFD)
Abstract
The quality of the products is a sum of functions, features and useful properties that make the product to satisfy a social need and thus to be appreciated be the user. Quality involves requirements of technical, economic, aesthetic, ergonomic nature, whose content evolves in step with social needs and is measured by the degree of utility and economic efficiency provided by the product within the scope of its users. One of the methods used to improve quality is Quality Function Deployment (QFD), which is a process planning designed to help in outlining, production and marketing of products or services by taking into account customer opinion. The principle of the method is to satisfy the needs of customers related to the product in each of the stages of realization of the product. On the basis of a graphical method, called пїЅHouse of qualityпїЅ, method allows a team of product development to identify and assess customer requirements and transpose them into requirements of the Organization at all levels, respectively, starting from research, design conception to manufacturing inclusive. Through this paper is intended to achieve the improvement of the quality of a product using the QFD, the objectives of the method in this case being the structuring of the design process, reducing the design cycle, transforming customer needs into technical requirements and quality plans, raising the levels of finished products. The goal of the QFD method can be expressed as: Quality, in that the customer wishes are transferred into the final product, Function, in that all organizational units work together, Deployment, to define in more precise units all necessary activities, which must be measured and controlled.
