Abstract

When building the foundations of a machine tool, demands must be placed on high quality and, above all, on their stability during their entire lifetime. In practice, however, it shows that these requirements are not always fully met on the customerпїЅs side when laying foundations. In the course of working, these foundations are subsequently damaged and their uneven decline occurs, which results in a change of the machine alignment, and thus it also influences the accuracy of production. For the supplier of the machining device it is currently difficult to prove such movements of the foundations is caused by their bad design and poor work. The problems are therefore attributed to the machine, not to the poorly laid foundations. The foundation for the machine centre, as well as the machine centre itself, is usually provided by different suppliers. As a result, the machine tool supplier faces extra costs in connection with the necessary realignment for a particular machine. Our method described in this article enables an easy and quick inspection and proof of foundation movements, which will result in the possibility of highlighting the potential issues of the machine, resulting from interaction with the foundation. This fact will have a positive impact on maintaining the required quality during foundation laying, and it will attach a greater importance to their design. Improving the foundation quality will have a major impact on maintaining the required accuracy of the machining tool, without the necessity of having to bear the costs of readjusting the machine, and thus it will increase production, which is the number one priority of any plant.
