Abstract

The article deals with the issue of mutual interaction between individual elements of the public space of settlements with a focus on its technical equipment. The paper focuses on a case study from the Czech Republic, namely a linden alley in the Jandovo stromoradi street in Frenstat pod Radhostem. There are described complex relationships between the elements of the public infrastructure which are situated in a very confined space and are currently in an inconvenient building-technical condition which threatens the public health and hygiene in the selected locality. Moreover, the issue of interaction is complicated by the protection of greenery, which is covered by valid legislation, greatly limiting any interference with the existing state of individual elements in space. Next very important part of the article is also the subsequent evaluation of the impact of the public space in the locality on the perceptions of the human being from the point of view of the inhabitants, as well as on the fulfillment of the public interest of all inhabitants of the presented locality. Although the paper focuses mainly on the issue of the case study, but its conclusions have been partly transferred to the general level and could be used for other similar cases.
