Abstract

Geochemical prospecting is one of the most useful methods in mining deposits exploration. For most of minerals and elements, geochemical data are reliable and helpful. As these methods are not expensive we can use theme in large scale. But non of these methods ( based on sampling from rocks, stream sedimentary, soil, water etc.) are complete and need complementary methods such as heavy mineral study, geophysics, remote sensing etc. Heavy mineral study is one of the best complementary methods. Based on this method the researcher can find the exact anomalous area. Stream sedimentary geochemical prospecting was done in Sarab, Iran to find the potential regions in this sheet. For this project 611 stream sedimentary samples were selected and analyzed by ICP methods. By means of this method anomalous region were defined, to emphasis these regions and find some new anomalous regions 230 heavy mineral samples were collected. These samples were studied and processed by statistical methods. At the end some new anomalous samples were discovered.
