Abstract

The research was carried out in the meadows ecosystems in the Bazo? forest park, located between Timis and Bega rivers and in the Cornetu forest, situated in the meadow of the Arges river. In each 1 ha survey area, information on the biometric features of component trees was collected and increment core samples were extracted. The purpose of the research was to know the structure and the functioning of the specified crop stands and the elaboration of the dendrochronological series for pedunculate oak and common ash. The identification of the extreme climatic years and the limiting environmental factors for the normal growth and development of the stands was also foreseen. The results of the research have shown that the forest stand in the Bazo? park is characterized by a significant productive potential given by the average wood volume of standing trees per hectare with a value of 742 m3 В· ha-1. From auxological point of view, it has been observed that the precipitations have a positive, significant influence on the growth and development of the two species. Statistical analyzes highlighted medium and significant intensity correlations between the average growth index and different climatic indicators (? <0.05).Through the researches, some clarifications and contributions were made regarding the structure of the forests stands and the productive capacity of the studied ecosystems. Dendrochronological research has evaluated the response of pedunculate oak and common ash to climate change over the last 55 years. It has also been established that the precipitation at certain times have an important ecological role for the growth of pedunculate oak and common ash trees in the meadows of the Timi?, Bega and Arge? rivers.
