Abstract

The mushrooms are able of cumulating metals from environment depending on specie, harvesting place, type of soil, degree of development and other environment conditions. The paper presents the results of the study on levels of copper, zinc, iron, manganese, chromium and calcium in mushroom harvests from Calimani site where the soil is degraded by mining work. The mycological material (19 samples of mushrooms) was harvested from 6 places of Calimani site: Ilva Dump, Dumitrelul Dump, near Dump of Pin, Dump of Pin, Pinus cembra Reservation and the Calimani Mountains, in summerautumn (July, August and October) 2007. There were identified 8 species, as follows: Suillus luteus, Laccaria laccata, Inocybe lacera, Suillus grevillei, Suillus variegatus, Leccinum piceinum, Fomitopsis pinicola, Hebeloma subsaponaceum. The metals were determined by spectrophotometry with atomic absorption, after a previous wet mineralization with hot nitric acid. The results were expressed in $\mu$g/g dried mushrooms at 105ВєC. Highest values of copper (69.67), zinc (241.98) and chromium (28.30) were registered in Laccaria laccata harvested from Pinus cembra Reservation. The highest value for manganese was in Hebeloma subsaponaceum (46.91) harvested from the same place as Laccaria laccata (Pinus cembra Reservation). The sample Inocybe lacera from near Dump of Pin had high values of iron (1602.42) and calcium (6526.28). The species of mushroom studied in this research accumulated high concentrations of copper, zinc, iron, manganese and chromium; they may be considered very important for evaluating the process of mycoremediation of degraded soil by mining activities.
