Abstract

In order to carry out the detection and examination of explosive substances both before and after their detonation, this multifunctional integrated system uses the work facilities provided by the use of: ISCAN type specialized equipment intended for the determination of threat traces based on the principle of ion mobility spectrometry; GSCAN type specialized equipment intended for the detection of explosives in bulk form and in closed containers using the principle of Raman spectrometry; the LDS800HDK specialized tablet following the creation of network connections with the two previously mentioned equipment in order to realize the hybrid detection of the investigated explosive substances. In this paper, a technical-scientific way of assessing the degree of vulnerability specific to industrial and urban sites is highlighted, based on the identification and examination of substances of an explosive nature that can generate, following controlled or accidental detonation, unwanted events resulting in explosion-type phenomena. The experimental tests carried out in the specialized laboratory focused on the use of various explosive materials based on nitroderivatives (TNT, SEMTEX, RDX, HMX), as well as means of initiating them (electric detonators and busters) in order to examine them (detecting the presence and type of explosive component) before and after their initiation.
