Abstract

ccording to Environment Report 2004, eight main areas with most violated environment can be identified in Slovak republic. Among those areas are also regions with mining and raw mineral processing, e.g . Jel\vsavsko -luben\'\icka, Rudniansko-gelnick\'a, Ko\vsicko-pre\vsovsk\'a a Zempl\'\inska regions. Affected regions can be defined by individual environment component grade, risk evaluation and regulations focused on environment protection. The presented paper deals about environmental impact of business activities concentrated on mining and raw mineral processing and their elimination by introducing the environmental management system in these enterprises and shows related advantages and problems during using this system.
