THE ESTIMATION OF OPTIMUM RATE OF POSSIBLE ROUTES FOR TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM IN CHADOR-MALU IRON ORE MINE
Abstract
In the open-pit mining industry, trucks and shovels are the mining technology of choice; however, it is widely recognized that the operation of these trucks and shovels contributes significantly to the overall operation cost. Fortunately, there exist many opportunities to reduce the cost of the truck and shovel operation. Chador-malu iron ore mine has been exploited since 1997. This deposit is located in the North-East of Yazd province and reserve of this deposit is about 400 million tons. At present, there is a number of loading and haulage equipment which can work for a considerable amount of time in future. In this paper the production rate of trucks in mine routes were obtained by investigating the data and tables of traffic rate in transportation system of mine. Then objective function and the constraints of the transportation system were defined. In the next stage, the most suitable rate of trucks, input and output for the possible routes were estimated by the aim of LINDO software. Keywords: Transportation System, Truck, Shovel, linear programming, LINDO.
