Abstract

Environmental pollution, which has extended its threat on the entire planet, reached the limit where attacks unleashed the man and his living space. Pollutants released by the global textile industry are continuously doing unimaginable harm to the environment. All actors along the supply chain have a role to play in reducing the environmental footprint of textile products. Passing over the capacity limits of nature defence, regenerative and balancing, all thenew pollutants are rapidly spreading through the air, water and soil, generating, developing and propagating one of the seriously danger that modern civilization has encountered. In Romania, the textile- clothing sector is a "traditional sector" capable to "redefine his own identity", according with a new business concept, completely adapted to the new industrial revolution needs (more clever, more favourable to the inclusion and more durable). At the level of 2017, synthesis of the macroeconomic indicators of textile sector shows the below values: more than 6 billion euros- the amount of the exports, 5% from the Romania's employees, more than 9508 active legal entities in the sector. In the view of sustainable development, where every single environmental element or parameter must be integrated "in a world of balance and harmony", a decisive role belongs to the research and innovation which has to proposes appropriate solutions for the existing situation.
