Abstract

In the context of globalisation and mounting socio-environmental challenges, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has emerged as a strategic mechanism for promoting sustainable development. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer a universal framework requiring the active participation of both public institutions and private enterprises. This article examines the interrelationship between CSR and SDG implementation, focusing on how corporations embed socially responsible practices into their strategic agendas. The study employs a comparative review of academic literature (2020–2024), international policy reports, and selected corporate case studies to assess contemporary CSR approaches, evaluate their contribution to sustainable development, and identify barriers to effective implementation. The findings highlight CSR as a critical driver of SDG achievement, emphasising best practices and systemic limitations across regions. This research contributes to academic discourse by framing CSR not merely as a voluntary initiative but as an essential strategic tool for long-term sustainability, offering practical insights for policymakers and corporate leaders seeking to align business strategies with sustainable development objectives.
