MODELING OF SURFACE RUNOFF IN THE ARCGIS SERVER
Abstract
The aim of paper is information about a complex model for computation a surface runoff as an ArcGIS geoprocessing tool. Th e formulated LOREP model represents an application for the identification and loca lization of areas with low flood storage capability. The procedure of computation of te rritorial specific surface runoff is based on a combination of specific functions in LOREP as hydrological equations of the runoff curve number method and spatially distributed unit hydrographs. Model involves a transformation of selected methods into a distributed hydrol ogical model as an ArcGIS geoprocessing tool. It was built using a Python programming language and tested in ArcGIS Desktop environment on model data from the Vseminka basin. The tool is available in two forms on the ArcGIS Server. The first method is a Geoprocessing Service ArcToolbox. Users can access this toolbox for analysis on their own datasets. The second method is a web application, where tools are available as separate tasks over model data.
