THE CONFORMITY OF DELAYED IGNITION MEANS AS KEY FACTOR ON A SAFE BLASTING IN QUARRIES
Abstract
The minerals exploitation by explosives in quarries presume a high energy development for the applied blasting techniques with a proper design parameters establishment according in the field conditions where the blasting will carried out. For an optional rock blasting in field to obtain a certain granulation together with the maintaining the risk levels of blasting (seismic waves, fly-rocks, shock waves pressure) in a non - hazardous field, must to be applied sequential detachment of rocks from the massive with the proper blasting technique. This exploitation method can be achieved by using the best initiation solutions in the blasting holes adapted to the technology. The essential parameter in calculation design targeting the established network taking view the пїЅdelays of the initiation meansпїЅ, as an essential condition for best results. This parameter (delay time) is a characteristic for nonelectrical detonators, frequently used in blasting activities in quarries and it could be negatively affected in situation of nonconform functionary regarding the technical characteristics declared by manufactures. The paper show the main results in checking the operation behaviour of пїЅshock tubeпїЅ as component designated to initiate nonelectrical detonators. The velocity of the shock wave inside the shock tube was the parameter determined to establishing the compliance of the product.
