Abstract

Beginning with the statement of the World Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development from Rio de Janeiro (1992), the worldпїЅs countries have started to develop national policies for implementing the concept of sustainable development. The experiences of those years led to a more pragmatic approach of the sustainable development implementing policies. For the first time the European Union and United Nations also realized that without a qualitative and quantitative quantification of the objectives of sustainable development, which should help for the comparison and tracking of the implementation policies, the targets set at an international, regional or state levels, cannot be reached. The Post-2015 Agenda is an actual finalization of international efforts of the elaborate approach of the sustainable development. The question is, if after the new sustainable development goals set by the UN in the Post-2015 Agenda, Member States will have the ability to implement at a national level but also at a micro-regional level, direct effects upon the peopleпїЅs quality of life on medium and long term. The signals show that states are not yet ready for an efficient local approach to sustainable development policies.
