Abstract
In 2016, the Faculty of Geodesy aimed incumbent on goals of the Strategic Plan of the Technical University of Civil Engineering for the period 2016-2020. In light of the strategy developed by University management, the Faculty of Geodesy has identified several proposals to increase academic performance through education. One of the major concerns was reducing the studentsпїЅ drop-out rate within their first years of study. We tried to identify appropriate ways of helping and stimulating the students towards continuing their studies. These proposals were largely based on the feedback obtained from students. They gave us pragmatic answers and we identified relevant solutions to be implemented with the purpose of improving the quality of the educational process. A set of key questions was developed and formed the basis our analysis. We needed to identify opportunity of making changes in terms of both teaching methods and educational content. At the same time, our aim was to promote an active participation of private companies linked to our activity domain towards supporting the students in developing better case studies as bases for their final year theses.
