Abstract

The paper proposes an analytical and simulation model of a sensory distributed wireless traffic control system on the roads of urban and rural settlements. The results of an analytical review of neurophysiological studies of the visual behavior of drivers, depending on the boundaries of the outdoor advertising area in the roadside, are presented. The technologies for collecting and transmitting data from the wireless monitoring of the road traffic situation were analyzed. A method is proposed for determining the parameters of the safety corridor boundaries using a regional sensor wireless network built on the basis of broadband radio modems. The obtained theoretical dependences allow to calculate parameters of boundaries of the zone of safe placement of advertising structures with reference to the established technical means of traffic management. When advertising structures are placed outside the triangle of visibility ?transport - road sign?, the distance of the primary recognition of the technical means of traffic management for the accepted experimental conditions allows, if necessary, to safely stop the vehicle. The proposed analytical-simulation model allows us to estimate the influence of load parameters on the performance characteristics of a sensory distributed wireless traffic control system on highways of urban and rural settlements. The results of assessing the quality of perception of technical means of traffic management by users of the management system with different service priorities provided. The recommendations for the effective use of sensor distributed wireless traffic control systems on the roads of urban and rural settlements are formulated.
